My 2 Year Journey at Top Management College in Greater Noida

‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.’ Plenty of you must be eagerly waiting to join the Top Management College of your dreams. Here’s a sneak peek into how rough the ride can be and what awaits you as you proceed. So let’s head back to where it all began.

To the beginning of the time

As the much-awaited notification came on the night of June 29, 2020, I was jubilant. Months of effort, hard work, sacrifices had paid off. Like many of us do, I too have secured a spot at the Top Management College, I Business Institute, Greater Noida. I was so excited and in the next two months that followed, I reached out to as many friends from different states of the country and seniors studying there, as I could and felt that I was ready to embark on this PGDM journey.

A New Chapter Begins in the first year at Management College in Greater Noida

The first day on this campus was surreal. Meeting more than 200 odd people from various educational and work backgrounds, and listening to inspiring speakers and faculties at the induction created a different motivation. We were barraged with 40 days orientation program, classes, quizzes, project submissions, mandatory corporate expert sessions, and the list is endless. There’s been so much buzz on how beautiful this college is and of the various facilities it offers, but the first 4 months allowed us to explore Delhi and Manali through tours.

An Ordeal or Bliss?

With no experience of hostel life, I would accept that adjusting here was very difficult at first. The variations from ‘Wow’ to ‘Oh no!’ in the hostel mess food, the ocean of new faces striving to create a spot for themselves it was all new for me. But I was never a quitter, and I took one day at a time, blending into the impulses that this place originally offers.

The bonding begins

A few weeks into the PGDM program, I got an opportunity to not just showcase our talents on stage, but to know our batch-mates. A series of competitions united us like nothing before could and It made me realize that survival here is not such a turbulent task.

The Calm after the Storm at Management College

Life suddenly felt so peaceful after completing the 2nd trimester at I Business Institute. The same campus where I was feeling difficult to fit in a few months ago felt so lovely now. After that, I had so much time to relax over a match of volleyball with friends or take a stroll across the campus. But the best takeaway from the experience was the bonds, learning’s, some good or bad experiences, and friendships formed with my batch-mates and the seniors.

Life beyond good grades

All the students at the college were much more than just good grades and placements. Each of us had started a family away from home here. We celebrated our joys, sorrows, festivals, birthday in style at the hostel, and the longing to visit home every few weeks had declined too. Now, the campus of I Business Institute and the hostel became a happy place.

The Transcendence

Life at I Business Institute is still characterized by classes, quizzes, heaps of project deadlines, late-night committee meetings, sports breaks, case study competitions, internships, live projects, and the list goes on. But now no more does it feel overburdening as it was feeling in the beginning. There’s a likable satisfaction when we go to sleep at dawn and are up again to attend a 9:30 AM class.

The last and best lap

After completing one year of PGDM at Management College the senior batch graduated a couple of days ago and we are now gearing up for our Summer Internships, a rush of nostalgia hit me. Now, I realized how rewarding and life-changing the last 8 months have been. We all friends came in with different expectations but the experience taught us much beyond that. From ‘How do I spend 2 years here?’ to ‘Oh! Just a year is left!’ I learned the lesson of my life.
